Due
to the conflicting nature of our schedules for this semester, and due to your
need to finish your academics this semester in order to go on practice teacher
next semester, we are taking our course English for Specific Purposes online.
Please
download our main text, “English for Specific Purposes (ESP) and Syllabus
Design” from the link below:
Read
the Introduction including the topics “ESP: Definition” and “The Meaning of the
Word ‘Special’ in ESP” on pp. 97-99.
Reflect
on what you have read and write an essay (at least a hundred words long) using
the following:
What is English for Specific
Purposes? How is it different from English for General Purposes? Give
examples.
You
may want to also refer to the tree diagram on page 105.
